Eat Like a Human. Not Like a Vending Machine.
Real food on a real budget — whether you've got a hotel microwave, a camper kitchen, or just a cooler and a hot plate.
You Can't Work Hard on Garbage Food
Fast food every night sounds fine until week three. Then your energy tanks, your wallet hurts, and you're dragging yourself through 10-hour shifts. The guys who figure out how to eat well on the road are the ones who last.
You don't need a full kitchen. You need a plan, a few pieces of gear, and recipes that actually work in a hotel room or camper. That's what this section is.

Stretch Your Per Diem Further
Shop at Walmart or Aldi over grocery chains — same food, 20–30% cheaper on staples.
Buy in bulk when you arrive: rice, oats, canned goods, protein powder. One trip, one week covered.
Rotisserie chicken is the best value in any grocery store — pre-cooked, high protein, $7–9 for multiple meals.
Eggs are the cheapest protein on the road. A dozen eggs is 72g of protein for under $3.
Skip the gas station drinks. A case of water and a bag of coffee from the grocery store costs less than three days of convenience store runs.
Track your food spending for one week — most guys are shocked how fast $15/day adds up to $450/month.
